Essay on respect in the military
The military teaches to respect to others through military training, discipline, and/or jail time. The upper ranks teach by letting the trainees know what each rank is and what that rank does. Those with ranks also tell the trainees what is expected out of the trainees when they approach a person of higher rank. If a trainee refuses to do what they are told by a person of higher rank, or do something they aren’t supposed to be doing, they are made to do push-ups as punishment for insubordination. If an illegal action had been taken, military personnel may even be given jail time. The goal is to teach respect of those around the trainee, and respect for position or rank. The respect that can be learned from the military will help with jobs outside of the military. Respect will help people get along with others.
